Hope in the City

Today I want to share with everyone an editorial I read in the Plain Dealer from one of their associate editors, Christopher Evans.  It concerns the horror awaiting all children who decide to run away, are taken away, or otherwise disappear and are swallowed up by the streets.

One boy, Jesse, chose another path after running away for 32 days.  He is one of the lucky ones, because a relative found him, brought him to her home, intervened, and saved him.  Today this young man is currently helping to rescue others from a fate worse than death.  Along the way he is compiling poetry!  What a marvelous story to read…one of hope, one where we can learn how to be a force for good in this life, one where we must confront the evil that resides close to everyone.

And, if you are so inclined, say a prayer for this young man…that his message of hope and success will spread through every back alley, empty home, and discouraged hearts.
